Under the roof of the Hanok, there is structure called “Gong-po”. It is a unique engineering style of Korean Han-ok which has a function of distributing the load on the roof equally and decorating the appearance of roof magnificently.
This “Gong-Po ham” is a multi-functional storage box that is designed to show fundamental characteristics of “Gong-Po” in most effective way and those fundamental elements of “Gong-Po” that is appearing on the box of “Gong-Po Ham” shares sufficient enough beauty with us. It also open to all directions, making user to store and use various stuff easily, and adding rich atmosphere of the Hanok to us when it used as an [objet].
This product was produced by collaboration between Jinkyung Ryu who completed the National Intangible Cultural Property training course No. 55 Somok-jang (carpenter) and Auroi's designer Kisang Gio. Also was produced as part of the program to strengthen the capacity of traditional skill that is supported by National Intangible Heritage Center.
